Google are continually expanding the functionality of Google Assistant and today have done just that with Google Assistant now able to book a ride with some ride sharing services.

OK Google, book a ride to Melbourne Airport.

Now with the new functionality you can ask your Google Assistant to book you a ride somewhere and it will bring up a list of popular ride sharing services to select from. Obviously in Australia your selections will be very limited but if in other countries you will be able to choose from services such as Uber, Lyft, Ola, Grab, GO-JEK and “many more”.

At the same time you will also receive information on the estimated pricing and wait times of each of the services. If you do not want the options you can also ask Google Assistant for book you a ride on a specific service:

Hey Google, get me an Uber ride to Melbourne Airport.

The new feature will be available first in English-speaking countries and any country where the ride service partners operate. It is now available here in Australia for Uber so if you need a quick ride somewhere just ask your Google Assistant.
