If you’re ordering one of the new Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL phones, you might want to remember to pre-order a Pixel Stand if you’re ordering from JB Hifi.

The Pixel Stand is a wireless, Qi compatible charger which has the benefit of enabling ‘Dreamliner’ mode which turns the phone into a digital photo frame while charging, as well as showing alarms, notifications, calendar entries and music being played back. The Pixel Stand will also allow you to set the phone screen to brighten slowly with warm colours just before your alarm goes off, which Google says creates ‘a more natural and pleasant wake-up experience’.

Google also confirmed that these features on the Pixel Stand won’t work on a standard Qi charger.

The Pixel Stand sells for $119 from the Google Store, but as we saw last year there’s a delay between shipping and the launch date, so if you want one on day one, then a bricks and mortar retailer is probably your best option.

While the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are available from all three carriers, as well as Harvey Norman and JB Hifi, the Pixel Stand is ONLY showing at JB Hifi.

If you want a Pixel Stand on day one, make sure you head over to their website, or in-store to pre-order a Pixel Stand with your phone.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
