Google have slowly been adding more characters to their Playground and today they have added one more, a Childish Gambino Playmoji and if you have a Pixel phone you can check him out now.

Google worked closely with the artist himself as well as his music video choreographer, Sherrie Silver, to match the moves of the Playmoji matched those of Childish Gambino himself. The ARCore’s motion tracking, light estimation and real world understanding in your Pixel phone the character will, as usual, interact with you – not just your movements but your facial expressions as well.

By using ARCore’s motion tracking, light estimation, and ability to understand the real world, his Playmoji looks and feels lifelike, whether he’s in front of you or in a selfie next to you. He even reacts to your facial expressions in real time thanks to machine learning—try smiling or frowning in selfie mode and see how he responds.

The Childish Gambino Playmoji has moves that map to three songs: “Redbone,” “Summertime Magic,” and “This is America.” You can enjoy them from today on all Pixel phones. Of course Google want everyone to bust out their own Childish Gambino moves and perform a dance off with the Playmoji: #pixeldanceoff.

Am I the only one that feels disappointed they are wasting resources developing this rubbish?

Neat, but I would be happier if the other party on the receiving end of my calls could hear me every time!
