For those not familiar with all of LG’s offerings, they actually make a lot more products than just phones and TVs. LG is a major domestic appliance maker as well and with their ThinQ line, they have been slowly bringing ‘smarts’ to their appliance line.

LG has announced today that their Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatible appliances will be rolled out to 21 markets. As part of this, Australia is expected to see an increase in LG product offerings. While you may not immediately see the benefit in voice control for your dishwasher, washing machine or dryer, other household appliances like Air conditioners are transformed with voice control.

We’re especially liking LG’s more platform-agnostic approach to smart Voice control with both Google’s and Amazon’s voice assistants getting first class treatment. LG will be rolling out Voice interaction to various devices including premium washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners and air purifiers.

Hey Google, vacuum my house! We just might swing by the LG booth at MWC and see if we can try out the integrations ourselves.
