Buying anything with software these days normally means you get to experience the joy of the day one update, at least with phones they’re something you can typically delay until the device is set up, and they’re something you actually want.

For buyers of Samsung’s latest devices, you’ll be receiving last month’s security updates pretty much on startup.

It’s great to see Samsung rolling out security updates. It would have ever have been better to have seen this months security updates.

With online breaches, zero-day exploits and the general festering mess that online security has become, getting regular up to date security updates has never been more important.

Here’s hoping Samsung keeps up the trend with the Galaxy S10 range for the next 3 years or so.

Security patches are great but I’m more looking forward to the fingerprint reader improvements.
