Wanting the best often means you need to pay top dollar, but fortunately, that’s not always the case. While there’s plenty of pricey NBN 100 plans around, you might be surprised by how little you can pay to get on NBN’s fastest speed tier.

These are ten of cheapest NBN 100 plans with unlimited data you can get right now:

There are a few deals worth calling out here.

You might not have heard of Tangerine Telecom before, the company has made waves in the last few weeks thanks to a new promo offer. $69.90 per month gets you an unlimited data NBN 100 connection with no-contract, which is quite possibly the cheapest NBN 100 plan around right now. The price goes up to $79.90 per month after your first six months with Tangerine, but even that is still on the lower end of what you’ll pay for an NBN 100 plan.

MyRepublic is running a similar promo where you’ll get your first 12 months for $79.95, but will pay $89.95 per month thereafter.

Belong will waive all upfront costs if you’re happy to commit to a year-long contract. In addition, you’ll get a free Belong mobile SIM with $80 worth of credit. Even if you don’t want to swap to Belong for your phone plan, you can always use the SIM to keep online while your broadband service is being connected.

Aussie Broadband’s plan is the priciest here at $99 per month, but the telco touts some of the fastest peak hour speeds in the entire industry.

So, does paying less mean you get a worse service? Not necessarily. Here are the speeds these providers say you can reasonably expect to get during peak hour:

  • Tangerine: 76Mbps
  • Kogan: 83Mbps
  • Barefoot: 60Mbps
  • Mate: 60Mbps
  • MyRepublic: 83Mbps
  • Vodafone: 83Mbps
  • Exetel: 83Mbps
  • TPG: 71.4Mbps
  • Belong: 80Mbps
  • Aussie Broadband: 90Mbps

These speeds are accurate of as of April 4, but it’s worth noting that some ISPs provide new guidance on peak hour evenings on a regular basis.
