While it should come as no surprise that Google is working on a Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, to date we had only spotted references to the smaller model. Now we’ve got “confirmation” of both device names and also a mystery 3rd device.

I’ll spare you the details of the super sleuthing the team at 9to5Google did. What you need to know is the Pixel 4 code name is ‘Coral’ and the Pixel 4 XL is ‘Flame’. Now, there is a Flame Angelfish so Flame could stick with Google’s fishy code name theme or they could be doing something new?

Also found deep in the AOSP code was a reference to device codenamed Needlefish. It’s unclear at this stage what this device could be, but with Google rumoured to have many and varied hardware projects in different stages of development it could be almost anything, or possibly nothing.
