The Google Pixel 3a will almost certainly be officially unveiled in a couple of weeks at Google I/O, but why wait until then to see what Google has coming?

With all smartphone announcements these days thoroughly leaked to the press ahead of the main event, it should come as little surprise that the Google Pixel 3a has leaked too, and from none other than Evan Blass.

The Google Pixel 3a has some giant bezels which we knew were coming, but the outside matters much less than what’s inside; an affordable, quality phone from Google itself featuring the most up to date version of Android OS available for now and for years to come.

From what we understand so far, the Google Pixel 3a range should include a Snapdragon 670 processor (the current top of the mid-range processors), 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, a 3,000 mAh battery and USB-C based fast charging.

The true highlight, though, should be the camera. Pixel phones have long had great cameras and there’s little reason to believe the Pixel 3a range should be any different. If Google can pack a Pixel-quality camera into an affordable mid-range handset then we’re in for a real treat.

Pricing is expected to vary from $450 (or around $642.36 AUD) for the Pixel 3a to $550 (or around $785.1 AUD) for the Pixel 3a XL.

Scott is off to Google I/O next month and will be on the ground to bring us all the latest news from the announcements.

If those prices are correct, they are going to sell an awful lot of phones
