5G is here, kind of. 5G phones are definitely here though, and Optus has a couple of deals to try and entice users to jump into the 5G game. Optus is now offering the Samsung S10 5G and OPPO Reno 5G on plans with some bonus accessories including a Samsung Galaxy Watch Active or a set of Bose QC 35 II noise-cancelling headphones (both excellent options).

The Samsung S10 5G is available starting at $95 per month including a $45 call and data plan and includes a free Samsung Galaxy Watch Active in black valued at $349 AUD. That gets you 4GB of data and unlimited talk and texts.

The OPPO Reno 5G is available starting at $75 per month including the same $45 plan with 4GB of data and unlimited talk and texts. The OPPO comes with a rather nice bonus – a pair of Bose QC 35 II noise cancelling headphones (which we’ve reviewed here).

Overall the jury is still out on if 5G speeds are really needed for the majority of users mobile needs, however, if you absolutely must have the latest and greatness, and you live in the relatively small handful of 5G enabled sites that Optus has brought online, then perhaps one of these deals is for you.

On the other hand, if you’re after a new phone that comes with some awesome free gear, this is another thing to bear in mind.
