Ring introduces its first ever indoor-only security camera and their Next Gen Stick Up Cam to Australia

3

Ring may have had a bit of bad PR recently but that hasn’t stopped them forging ahead with new products. Today they have announced one entirely new camera, Ring Indoor Cam, and a new version of an old camera, the Next-Gen Stick Up Cam.

Ring Indoor Cam

The Ring Indoor Cam is not only their first ever indoor-only camera but also their most affordable camera. The AU$99 camera may be cheap but certainly does not lack in features.

The compact camera’s features include the ability to record 1080p HD video, night vision, motion zones, two-way talk and motion-activated recording. For those security conscious (and we all should be) you can disable motion and audio recording from the app and there is an indicator light that displays whenever the camera is recording.

The Indoor Cam is plug in only and is not certified to be used in outdoor weather. It supports Alexa commands and can be integrated into Amazon smart displays as well.

Available for pre-order now and for purchase from February 18 it can be purchased for just AU$99 from Ring or Amazon and will most likely show up at other retailers going forwards.

Next Gen Stick Up Cam

The third generation Stick Up Cam can once again be installed indoors or out and is available in two power options, battery and solar. It’s features include:

  • Flexible, DIY installation both indoors and outdoors
  • Two-way talk
  • Live View
  • Up to 1080p HD video
  • Night vision
  • Motion detection and motion-activated recording
  • Weather resistant
  • Turn off audio recording with the Audio Streaming and Recording Toggle
  • Pause motion-activated video recording with the Record Motion Toggle
  • Avoid video recording specific areas with the Privacy Zones feature
  • Blue LED light indicates when the device is recording or in Live View
  • Alexa enabled

The new Ring Stick Up Cam Battery will be available for AU$179 at Ring and Amazon and the solar version for AU$259 from Ring Only. Both will be available from January 29 at these retailers.

Ring continue to expand their product offering in Australia with a fair deal of success. Although the products are usually not cheap they are great quality and we usually recommend them. These are two new offerings that may suit you — if you already have Ring products they are a great addition and if you don’t they may be a good starting point for you.

  1. Who on earth would put Amazon’s Ring cameras in their house?

“Ring may have had a bit of bad PR recently”

This is certainly an understatement. Ring was sending the output of private cameras to other households, unbeknown to the first person. Unless you want a ring of spectators watching what you do, avoid Ring.

  2. unbelievable how amazon australia so slow to offer all their devices at once !

where is the fire tv stick 4k ?

its an insult to australian people ! especially they keep selling this outdated fire tv stick basic edtition that slow , laggy and doesnt work
