A new Samsung Galaxy Watch is on the way — passes through FCC

Overall

Samsung released the Galaxy Watch back in 2018 and since then have focused on their Active range but now it seems that they are looking to bring a new Galaxy Watch to market, and soon.

A new Galaxy Watch has turned up at the FCC revealing not just model numbers and sizes but the LTE bands it will support. The models SM-R820 and SM-R830 are obviously Galaxy Watch candidates given that the diagrams have Galaxy Watch engraved on them in the diagrams mentioned in the “About watch” section of the FCC documentation.

According to DroidLife the Galaxy Watch the smartwatch will arrive in both Wi-Fi and LTE models with all models featuring Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (fancy that). The new Galaxy Watch is set to arrive with Gorilla Glass DX protection, water resistance to 5ATM, a durability rating for MIL-STD-810G (something very handy in an everyday watch), built in GPS and LTE.

The conclusion from all of these documents is that we will be seeing both Wi-Fi and LTE models of two different sizes: 41mm and 45mm. Which ones of these land here in Australia is unknown of course but hopefully we will find out soon.

Last year the Galaxy Active watches were revealed by Samsung just a few days after they appeared at the FCC so we expect them to arrive in the not-to-distant future. A week or 2? Let’s hope so.
