The folks over at BGR have managed to score some images and details regarding what is meant to be the Motorola Atrix 2. As you can see from the image above (more images at the source link) the device will be headed to AT&T in the USA, and it will most likely be quadband so it’ll work here on all our carriers — it could launch here considering Telstra has the original Atrix.

The specs BGR received suggest the Atrix 2 consists of 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz Dual-Core TI OMAP4 CPU — not Tegra-based as with the original Atrix; an 8MP camera that will shoot 1080p video, possibly at 30fps; and will run Android 2.3.5. The screen size and resolution aren’t stated, however, we can assume it will be qHD (960×540) like most of the current Motorola devices, although the screen looks a little larger than 4-inches. We’ll find out in the next few months when Motorola makes an official announcement.

Yes Geoff you’re correct Optus do not have Atrix. Buzz is wrong as usual but are we surprised? He is a Samsung fan boy so generally his Motorola knowledge is poor at best.

Yeah it is incorrect, I have a feeling Buzz got mixed up with the DEFY, which is on both Telstra and Optus, and also Virgin and CJ’s. However there was a rumour of it going to Optus along with the XOOM but this didn’t seem to eventuate.

I can haz brain.

You’re right, I’m paid for every Samsung reference in posts.

Did you know the Galaxy S II is available on every carrier?! You should check it out!

Optus have the original Atrix. How did I miss that, I’m in an Optus store nearly every weekday?
