Oppo has today announced that their photography focused F1s handset will be available from Yes Optus Stores and through Optus Online at the bargain price of just $259.

Featuring a 16MP front-facing camera and 12MP rear camera, the F1s has largely lived up to the hype that Oppo has generated with their F-Series handsets. The F-series aims to deliver an excellent quality camera experience with high-end camera features and software enhancement which includes ‘a ‘selfie panorama’ mode for group shots, and a palm-activated shutter to trigger an automatic selfie countdown’ and sensors designed to capture

Hardware wise, the F1s is a stylish looking handset and comes in a Grey colour option. Under the 5.5″ HD Display, you’ll find an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of on-board storage with microSD card expansion and a 3,075 mAh battery.

Can anyone confirm that this is not running colorOS?

All Oppo phones run ColorOS out of the box, what were you expecting it to run? Project spectrum can be flashed to some of their devices bringing stock Android with some tweaks, but this isn’t available for the F1s (yet?). To be honest slapping Google Launcher or Nova Launcher on this gets it to very close to feeling stock in everyday navigation around the homescreen which is what most of us do anyway after setting up the device. Based on this phone having Lollipop 5.1, and it’s being released now. I wouldn’t hold your hopes up too high.
