Announcing two new additions to the Galaxy A series, Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018), featuring dual front cameras, large infinity displays and ergonomic design borrowed from the flagship Galaxy S range.

Samsung is making a lot of noise about the photography features, bound to be fun for the social media generation. Samsung says users can snap bright, clear selfies with the 16MP F1.7 rear camera and 16MP+8MP F1.9 dual front camera, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. There’s a portrait lens and a wide-angle lens and the two can be used together to create bokeh effects before or after taking the photo.

With a fast F1.7 lens, the Galaxy A8 (2018) cameras excel in low-light conditions, allowing you to capture photos day or night, at your preference.

It’s not just for capturing scenes, though. The Galaxy A8 range features an infinity display (i.e. minimal bezels) with an 18.5:9 display ratio for enjoying movies and more in super wide screen.

Of course, there’s other features too – Samsung Pay compatibility is built in, there’s IP68 water and dust resistance, MicroSD storage expansion, and they both work with Samsung Gear VR if that’s your fancy.

Both handsets will be available later in January 2018, so keep an eye and we’ll share local availability and pricing with you when it becomes known.
