Huawei has announced a new software update for the Huawei Mate 10 Series for Australian customers.

The update is rolling out now, and users should receive it by the end of August. The update includes the introduction of a new NIGHT Mode that allow users to take outstanding long exposure photos in low light without the use of a tripod.

First seen on the Huawei P20 Pro, the Night Mode utilizes the advanced AI processor on the smartphone to stabilize images using AI, delivering clearer images in lower light conditions.

The firmware update will be available across the following smartphones sold in Australia:

  • HUAWEI Mate 10 Series
  • HUAWEI Mate 10 – RRP $899 – Available through Vodafone
  • HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro – RRP $1099 – Available through Optus
  • Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate 10 – RRP $1899 – Available through mobileciti

“Our engineers are continually looking at ways to improve the capability of our existing smartphone products” said Larking Huang, Managing Director of Huawei Australia Consumer Business Group. “We are dedicated to providing our existing customers with more improvements and to ensure they benefit from our continuous product and software development efforts”
