We know the ROG Phone 2 is coming and we know it will be officially announced on July 23rd. We now know that it will be the first (of many to come) phones that will sport the game-focused Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus.

The updated “plus” processor offers users a far more gaming and VR focused capability versus the Snapdragon 855 which is seen in many current top devices.

The news comes only a week out from the release date of the phone. There’s not a massive amount of information around as yet, indications are that this could be the first device with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Personally I’m hoping to see the gaming focus maintained with some extra daily use included in the package compared to the first generation of devices which were very impressive but had their failings.
