Last week we expected, and got, a lot from the annual Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. We saw Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra devices, the Tab S7 range, the new gear watches and a fleeting mention of the Galaxy Fold 2.

The fleeting mention really only went into some basic detail, while confirming that the device would have its own launch in September. It seems — providing the video is, in fact, legitimate — that while the leakers are getting a continual stream of information about upcoming devices, one has managed some hands-on time.

Before the official launch we’re sure to see a lot more of the device and — near enough — confirmed specs, but here’s what we know for now.

  • Front Screen: 6.2-inch 2,260 x 816 res, Inner Screen: 7.7-inch AMOLED 2,208 x 1,768 pixels @ 120Hz
  • Snapdragon 865+
  • 12GB Memory
  • 256GB storage UFS 3.1
  • A 4500mAh with quick charge
  • 12MP main lens (OIS / PDA) + 64MP telephoto lens + 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and 10MP selfie cam

As yet pricing and availability are unknown. As what will be one of the leaders in the second generation of foldable devices, this will be something to look forward to for everyone. Foldable phones are here to stay, it’s just a question of when they become practical and affordable for everyday users.

Thanks Andy for the tip
