While Android’s native video editing service was laid to rest some time ago, there’s been very few options for editing video on your Android devices. The good news is that one of the biggest names in video editing, Adobe, has brought their video editing service Premiere to Android.
Premiere for Android is a limited video editing service with the ability to let you do basic video editing on your device and then push the video to your Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud account to add that final bit of polish. The service DOES require you to have an AdobeID, so you can use an existing one or sign up for one within the app. Once you’re signed in, you’re away.
The actual editing is pretty easy, there’s the basics like trimming the video and linking a couple together as well as fade in/out from black and cross fades between videos. You can even create a collage video from a selection of photos, with a ‘photo motion’ option which slowly zooms into pics when they’re on display. Premiere also provides a decent selection of music to sync to your videos which play over the top and you can also add one of 30 filters to the video to give it a different look.
It’s free to use, but obviously Adobe are going to want to push you into their Creative Cloud subscription service to get your coin – and to be honest it will be a much better video once edited on a desktop, but then the point is that this is a mobile editor and to be honest it’s actually quite good.
