img_2016-10-30-092919This morning we’ve awoken to a new Google Doodle, as we do most days, but as Halloween is almost upon us, it’s time for some spooky treats to keep us entertained. Google’s 2016 Halloween Doodle is an interactive game where you can do battle with ghosts with gesture-based controls. The premise is simple; draw each ghost’s matching symbol (or symbols) to defeat that ghost, and beat them all before they beat you.

Google’s description of the game reads as follows:

Happy Halloween!

Grab your wand and help fend off a ghostly catastrophe. Press play to swipe spells, save your friends, and help restore the peace at the Magic Cat Academy.

This year’s Halloween Doodle follows freshman feline Momo on her mission to rescue her school of magic. Help her cast out mischievous spirits by swiping in the shape of the symbols above the ghosts’ heads. And you’d better pounce fast—the ghost that stole the master spellbook is getting away!

This is a fun little game, and a great way to pass a little bit of time if you’re looking for something to do. The effort that Google puts in to something as innocuous as the logo on its website means there’s something for all of us to enjoy.
