Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is bringing a faster web to most of the world, and while it’s not to everyone’s taste it is demonstrably faster when you use it. That speed is coming to Gmail with a new developer preview launching today.

The new dev preview will allow developers to ‘create more engaging, interactive, and actionable email experiences’ says Google. The preview, which is being used by Pinterest, Doodle and Booking.com to create new experiences for their users, allows for dynamic updating within your Gmail browser window so you don’t have to refresh, saving time.

The dynamic nature of AMP for Gmail will allow users to, for example ‘submit an RSVP to an event, schedule an appointment, or fill out a questionnaire right from the email message’.

We spend a lot of time looking at, triaging and responding to email, and better, faster tools are alright with me. Can’t wait to see how this one pans out.
