The impact of COVID-19 will be seen across the globe for years to come, one of those impacts is the prevalence of video meetings. Headlined in the early stages of the pandemic by Zoom, Google Meet followed shortly after, initially for G suite and is now heading to your mobile.

In much the same way you would join Google Meet meetings via your desktop, whether you’re on iOS or Android will soon be able to do the same from the Gmail mobile app. In a blog post, the Google team outline the new feature and how to use it.

In the coming weeks, you’ll soon notice a new Meet tab on your phone’s Gmail app where you can see upcoming meetings scheduled in Google Calendar, and easily join them with a single tap.

Google Meet is exceptionally easy to use which makes it another nice addition to the ecosystem. If you’re not keen on using it just yet, you can also remove it from your Gmail view.

What features are you looking for from a video meeting platform? What one do you use at the moment? Would you change?
