The recent launch of the P20 and P20 Pro was a big day for Huawei, they also announced a Porsche Design version of the phone, but what they didn’t announce was the P20 Lite. That said, the literature given away at the event did include the specs for the phone, and it appears it’s already on-sale at Vodafone in the UK.
The phone is similar in design to the P20 and P20 Pro, though only available in Black. Like the higher end models, the P20 Lite 5.84″ screen also contains a notch, though with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280 x 1080 resolution. It’s powered by a lower end Kirin 659 processor, with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage – no, it doesn’t have a microSD card slot.
The P20 Lite has a dual-camera setup on the rear with a 16MP sensor behind an f/2.2 aperture paired with a 2MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture and there’s also an LED flash. The dual camera can produce on-device Bokeh effects.
Other specs include a 3000 mAh battery, rear fingerprint sensor but no 3.5mm headphone jack. You can see the rest of the specs, and a comparison to the P20 and P20 Pro here:
As for when you’ll be able to purchase the P20 Lite, there’s not a lot of info. Vodafone in the UK however is already offering the P20 Lite in black on plan starting from £30 per month.
Huawei has advised the P20 Lite is unlikely to be coming to Australia, but there may be something similar in the pipeline.
