The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 offers prospective Australian electric car purchasers who don’t want an SUV, a refreshing sedan option loaded with industry leading tech.

It is our understanding that 1000 Ioniq 6 cars have been allocated to Australia for 2023, with 300 already sold.
Driveaway pricing will vary from state to state but the NSW configurator for a Sydney postcode says $76,549 for the base level DYNAMIQ variant.

I really like how ordinary and conventional the dash on the Ioniq looks.
This is why I bought the Ioniq EV over the Tesla Model 3. Both were similarly priced, roughly even features and performance (though the Model 3 is a bit more spritely) but … the Ioniq felt like a car. The Tesla Model 3 felt like a UFO.
That and I just can’t bring myself to give Elmo my money.
Why does the front of these electric cars always look so dull and crappy?
I prefer the new look. Since EVs don’t contain combustion engines that waste most of the fuel as heat emissions, they don’t need the massive grilles that have shaped the look of cars for decades
