If you’ve ever had a keyboard focussed on outright performance, you’ll know that they can be a touch on the hefty side. The Razer Huntsman Mini looks to change that with a 60% form factor keyboard that still has all of the features you’d expect from a company such as Razer.

The new Huntsman Mini carries a number of features specific to the Razer brand as well as some very sharp detail on the device. The Razer Huntsman Mini is small, but has compromised virtually nothing:

  • Razer™ Optical Switches for actuation at the speed of light
  • Doubleshot PBT Keycaps with side-printed secondary functions
  • Onboard memory and lighting presets to take your settings anywhere
  • 60% form factor for a portable, streamlined gaming experience
  • Detachable Type-C cable for easier setup and storage
  • Aluminium construction for greater durability

What this means for buyers is aside from the lack of a number pad and the need to develop some new muscle memory, you lose nothing. What you gain is a keyboard that looks, feels and performs the part for mobile gaming but can — if you’ve got time — also deliver for mobile productivity options.

The Huntsman Mini has been adorned with the traditional “clicky” keys or the latest version of Razer’s own optical switches which have been further refined giving a better feel and sound. The sound is aided by silicone sound dampeners which significantly improves the experience for users wanting to transfer their keyboard to a production environment. The switches also deliver speed of light performance… literally!

Unlike traditional mechanical switches that have a lot of moving parts and actuate via metallic contact, Razer™ Optical Switch enables actuation via light. Imagine this: you press a key and a light beam instantly passes through the switch stem—which is when actuation happens—and sends a corresponding signal to your computer to perform the intended action.

The keyboard is available in black or mercury white and you can customise the look of your Huntsman Mini with a set of PBT keycaps.

Local pricing is between $219.95 for the Clicky option and $239.95 for the Linear option.
