It’s very easy to criticise companies like Razer who cater to a relatively small market for their pricing. It’s always a delight to see them take that on the chin and deliver a responsive product. That’s exactly what has happened as we take our first look at the Razer Blade 15 base model.

It has the majority of features that the higher-end Blade models feature, at a significantly lower price. It carries the same look of the CNC-finished aluminium body featuring the Razer logo. You’ll find the trademark Chroma RGB lighting on the keyboard and the specs are solid:

  • Speakers powered by THX® Spatial Audio giving immersive audio, even without headphones
  • Intel® Core™ i7-10750H processor
  • 16GB of DDR4 RAM
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti graphics
  • 120Hz display, lined with ultra-thin bezels
  • A built in HD webcam

The Blade 15 base model comes in at US$1,499.99 which is a touch under AU$2,000.00 — at the time of writing — making it a cheaper, not a cheap option. The reality though, is that if you’re looking a mobile gaming or a laptop with lots of power, you pay for what you get.

So if you’re in that market segment and looking for something a bit more powerful, looking at the Razer Blade 15 is going to be well worth your time. In the early stages, it’s available online at Razer.com but is expected to expand to their usual retail chains.
