Samsung has announced and launched its latest premium Chromebook in its Galaxy Computing family with the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 is a 2-in-1 Chromebook laptop that is offering leading features from its predecessor at a more accessible price.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes with a first-ever 13.3-inch QLED touchscreen display on a Chromebook. There are 2 versions of the galaxy Chromebook 2 that are powered by two very different Intel Processors. The first is powered by a dual-core Intel Celeron 5205U processor with the slightly more powerful version being powered by a dual-core 10th gen Intel Core i3 10110U.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 can also be configured as with 4GB or 8GB of RAM, with 64GB or 128GB of storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot available for expandable memory. Furthermore, the Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 and all powered by a 45.5 Wh battery that Samsung states will enable users to use the device for up to 14 hours between charge.

There are also x2 USB-C ports alongside a combined 3.5mm audio/microphone jack. There are also two 5W speakers that utilise Smart AMP feature that Samsung state are 178% louder than an average amplifier and there is also a 720p webcam located at the top middle of the display.

Samsung has highlighted that for those who rather type or text their message, that the keyboard on the Galaxy Chromebook 2 are backlit and have wider keys to stop those annoying typos from occurring (now if it can sort out the dreaded auto-correct feature that could also be quite helpful).

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 will be available in the US before the end of March and will become available in two colours – Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray. It is not sure if the Galaxy Chromebook 2 will become available here but we will certainly reach out for comment from Samsung Australia.
