LG G5 - DAB
It’s a big week for phone launches this week, with LG launching two handsets with Optus this week, the LG G5 as part of LG’s broader Australian launch of their flagship handset and the digital radio focused DAB+ Stylus handset.

LG G5
The LG G5 has this year captured imaginations with their modular accessory concept, the handset is now available to order from Optus in Titan (black) from $58 per month ($40 My Plan Plus + $18 handset repayment) but there’s a range of plans available if you want more inclusions.

One big drawcard that LG and Optus are focusing on with the LG G5 is that the phone carries a 6-month screen guarantee with LG replacing the screen if it breaks.

Chris has already given the LG G5 the full Ausdroid review treatment and you can read about the hits and misses of the G5 in his review here.

To order the LG G5 head over to the Optus website and check out the plans on offer.

LG DAB+ Stylus
The other phone available for order now is the LG DAB+ Stylus, a phone which unsurprisingly packs a stylus to use on the large 5.7″ display. The stylus is neat, but the real trick to this phone is that the DAB+ Stylus can also pick up digital radio stations for high quality radio without streaming data costs – and so you can stream for hours, a 3,000mAh battery is included.

The DAB+ Stylus can be ordered from Optus for $40 per month with no handset repayments, or if you want more included in your plan there’s more options available.

LG will be sending a review unit of the LG DAB+ Stylus shortly so we’re hoping to get hands on time with it soon. If you want some impressions from the launch, Jason headed over to take a look and you can read up on that here.

If you think the LG DAB+ Stylus is for you then check it out on the Optus website.

I must say it’s a bold move putting the LG DAB+ Stylus up against the G5, but they are aimed at different ends of the market. Optus will push each in a different way in-store so we’ll have to wait and see what shakes out at that level. If you’re interested in either, head to the Optus website.

Argh…always said I wouldn’t pay more than $50/m but $58 for G5 is tempting…this or Nexus 6P for $48? If the replaceable battery makes the G5 last a year longer it might even out value-wise.

Any idea where you can purchase this out right? Like Harvey Norman or JB Hi-fi?
