OPPO are starting to dominate the mid to lower end of the smartphone market in Australia. Part of the reason they are able to do this is their ability to pack some decent hardware into an attractive phone for low cost. They seem to have done it again with todays announcement of the OPPO A57.
The OPPO A57 builds on the success of the F1s in the entry-level segment of the market. It also, like the F1s, is a phone with average specs in most areas except the camera. The rear camera is a 13MP camera equipped with phase detection autofocus while the front facing camera is an impressive 16MP f/2.0 camera, great for high quality selfies.
The 5.2in 720P LCD display is powered by a 64bit octa-core Snapdragon 435, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage as well as a microSD slot to increase storage up to 256GB. The fingerprint sensor is front mounted and the battery is just 2900mAh but considering the display resolution should last through the day easily. The phone is just 149.1mm x 72.9mm x 7.65mm and weighs in at 147g thanks to it solid metallic construction

Unfortunately the phone runs OPPO’s ColorOS on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow but at an outright price of $328AU expectations should be tempered. The phone is available now from JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks.
720p and a 2900mAh battery it should have a decent OSD time. No idea of the issues with the OPPO’s ColorOS as mentioned in this article though.
