Google has announced submissions for their 2017 Indie Games Festival are now being accepted from US and Canadian developers.
The 2017 Indie Games Festival will be held in San Francisco on September 23rd, with submissions being accepted from indie developers in the US and Canada until midnight on August 6th. The competition is hot, with 20 finalists being chosen for the final competition where three winners will be chosen.
Though open to US and Canadian entrants Google has previously run Indie Games Festivals in other localities such as the European Indie Games Festival earlier this year. Developers at that contest won Google Hardware (Pixel C or Pixel XL), as well as more importantly for indie developers, exposure and promotion on Google Play through promotions such as the Indie Corner on Google Play.
We’ve yet to see a local Indie Games Festival here in Australia, but with this the second instance for the US we may get something here soon.
