There appears to be differences in CPU varying on region, we’re looking to get confirmation from Samsung Australia and will update as soon as we know what is destined for Australia.
Edit: Yes the Galaxy S 4 will come with Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), covered in Touchwiz of course.
How’s the Galaxy S 4 looking to you?
Won’t be jumping over to Samsung if we get screwed with the CPU, might think about a nexus, fin Asians keeping all the sweet tech to themselves…
The Snapdragon 600-powered GS4 will have an Adreno 320 GPU, not the 544MP3. The Exynos Octa will have the SGX544MP3.
Let’s put bets down on how long the Aussie networks take to give you 5.0 on my/your new S4 after it’s released in I/O june. I’ll put $50 on late October at best 🙂 my contract runs out in August/sept so I’ll be watching.
Looks like I’ll be getting the Xperia Z for work and the One for personal.
Samsung’s specs are solid but the design is rubbish and it doesn’t really offer much over the other 2 contenders.
Am I the only one that was impressed? I mean they even managed to have it on 4.2.2. No companies ever release products on the latest OS version.
yes you were the only one who agrees that it was “the next big thing after colour tv”
No, that’s what what I meant at all. I was just impressed with the phone overall. And quite surprised that they released it on the latest OS. Which basically never happens.
I agree! Companies these days don’t put latest versions on their products! I’m getting a S4 as my contract is about to expire.
Awesome man, hope you enjoy it.
They’ve kinda made the iPhone 4/4s/5 mistake and made it look exactly the same as the previous model and added extra grunt. If I’ve shelled out for a newer, beefier phone, I don’t want it to look exactly the same as the old one that my mate has…
I know thats very superficial, but I’m surprised that the design is at least a bit different…
And I know they’re going for the whole brand recognition thing, but you can stick to a similar design and update it. Once a design has been done, it becomes dated. They can use the same basics and improve/update.
Corney and slow presentation aside for a non stock device this just got my $$ Qi charging confirmed. This thing ticked all of my boxes 5″ screen (I have large hands and big pockets I can handle it) 441ppi resolution the CPU/ RAM should purrrr 13 mp Camera (I hope low light photography gets better, I would liek to know who made the sensor) Qi charging Fingers crossed for the battery life. I’ll just get my nova launcher ready, i cant stand the childish samsung interface. I’d like to see which markets get which chip. Mobicity might be the way… Read more »
Awesome! I have huge pockets! I can fit an iPad mini in my pocket!
Hi Daniel, More is better with everything 441ppi. 5″ screen real-estate, 1.6 / 1.8 /1.9?? CPU Octo 4+ plus 4, 13Mpixel camera etc. etc. What’s not to like and want. Other than ifone users that prefer a fixed stable platform, I would expect that most would see the benefits that “more” brings. Now if you can just put a price tag on all those specs we will see how much our desires match up with the reality of our credit card balances. Pricing I would think for a cheap mass produced miniaturised high tech device floating around in ever bigger… Read more »
Samsung Galaxy S4 $580? I’m glad I put off buying iPhone 5! – PC & Tech Authority – http://s.shr.lc/Zbr5fm
any idea when the galaxy s4 will be available in australia
Not a showstopper by any stretch of the imagination. Pretty much a Galaxy S IIIs. Have just sent my preorder through for the Xperia Z.
Decent battery though…Just a shame to see them sticking with the polycarb.
At least they updated their Knox feature. Don’t know why they acted it was new. didnt they have it on that Armani phone a few years back?
Still prefer the HTC One, with the Xperia Z coming in second. It’s by far not a bad phone, just the specs aren’t much different and the design is a bit lacking for me.
The presentation is one of the WORST things I have EVER witnessed.
agreed. did someone order extra cheese on the presentation..
they ordered something smelly but I don’t think it was cheese!
LOL Epic Fail
LOL epic fail comment.
Yes epic fail considering that they hyped it up as the next big thing after colour tv LOL
You’ve already lost your argument bro, stop trying.
so that is your argument? why don’t you argue that it is indeed the next big thing after colour tv?
I wonder if Sammy will give me one since the JB update stuffed up my S3?
Haha… but seriously, I think this has been released too soon. Wait another year or so and release something completely different, not just a jazzed-up S3.
The presentation was terrible. Shocking jokes. I get that they want to do something different, but the whole singing/dancing approach made me cringe.
5″ screen?! *shakes head* This is getting ridiculous…
hopefully the IR Blaster can be used as an actual universal remote, and not just a ‘universal for some things, but not everything’ specification
Bit disappointing, they should have waited until may again, redesigned the whole thing and blown us away with the specs
This presentation is almost unbearable….Phone looks amazing though!
