Looks like the rumours were true HP has indeed been working on a 10″ Android system and it’s called the Slatebook 10 x2. The newly announced ‘detachable’ will be the first member of the HP x2 line to run Android 4.2.2.
Hardware wise the tablet will run the Tegra 4 SoC, making it the first detachable style tablet on the market. The x2 comes with a 1920×1200 resolution 10″ IPS screen and 64GB of on-board storage with a microSD Card slot, as DTS Sound+ Solution. The Tablet will be sold with a keyboard dock that has a magnetic hinge design and includes a dual battery system that allows the user to ‘easily switch from notebook to tablet and back’. The Base will also include a keyboard, trackpad, SD Card slot and USB port.
The X2 will come with the full suite of Google services as well as an Office suite from Kingsoft as well as a HP File Manager. The Slatebook X2 will be available in Snow White and Smoke Silver in the US in August. Inital pricing will be US $479.99. We’ve asked HP Australia for any local details on the x2 and will update as soon as we have any details.
