One of our favourite features from the Pixel 2 is the ‘Now Playing’ function which uses the always listening feature on the phone to identify songs playing around you. What it doesn’t do is give you a history of those songs. A developer has now solved that issue with Now Playing History an app which is now available to purchase on Google Play.
It’s not a free app, but at $1.49 it’s fairly reasonably priced. It’s simple to use, once you get your Pixel 2 setup to listen for songs you simply open the Now Playing History app and you find all the songs identified in a neat list sorted by date. The settings simply offers you a choice of loading the song in one of three services: Google Play Music, Spotify or YouTube.
Of the three services, Google Play Music actually was the worst with the song not really identified correctly, though it did manage to at least identify Bruno Mars as the artist.
It’s a very good app for what it does, and is very much worth the money. Check it out now on Google Play.
