The case for an August 7th launch of the Optimus G2 has just gotten a little stronger, with photos released by EVLeaks showing what appears to be some sort of briefing for the phone. The images appear to be a hero shot as well as some photos of a video of the phone in use.
Inspecting the shots show what could be a volume rocker, confirming rumours that the phone would include buttons on the back. The shots are fairly blurry, so it’s not 100% clear what it actually is and it could possibly be a fingerprint scanner, reminiscent of the Motorola Atrix, but that could be a stretch.
The specs on an Optimus G2 are rumoured to include a 1080P Full HD screen as well as the Snapdragon 800 chipset which seems to be garnering some real praise in the tech community for some blisteringly fast speeds. We’ll find out more as soon as August 7th rolls around.

Picked up my phone and found, if the volume and shutter buttons are at the back, it would make it much easier for a lot of tasks.
Is that the volume up and down on the back!! I wont pass judgement until I try it but its either crazy or “revolutionary”.
It looks a little S4 ish. Is that a LG logo or a resistive button down below?
Come on 5″ 1080p, 32gb, sd equiped, LTE, Snapdragon 800 with AOSP [or nexus 5 version :)]. Daddy wants a new phone.
Won’t be AOSP due to LG wanting to differentiate but a separate Google Edition and those specs you listed would have the G2 on my must have list.
That was my wish list. the G2 wont be AOSP but a Nexus or AOSP version with those specs. yes please.
