Kogan has today announced a new phone in their affordable Android phone line with the Agora 8 Plus arriving for $239.

The phone is available to pre-order from today, with shipments starting on November 27. The Agora 8 Plus is well priced for what’s inside, with an Octa-Core Mediatek MT6750T processor and 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 32GB of storage with an additional microSD card slot which can add up to an additional 128GB of storage as well.

In terms of cameras, the Agora 8 Plus has a 13MP rear camera with Auto-Focus, it’s not a dual-camera setup like todays flagships but doesn’t need to be, on the front is an 8MP shooter.

The phone comes with a USB-C type connector which is a plus, though it doesn’t appear to come with a headphone jack – nor is any mention made of a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

Kogan is pushing that the phone has Android Nougat, which is ok, but given Oreo is now out and their history of software updates is limited to just a single phone receiving one update, we’re not holding our breath for any advances on this.

Sergiy Bobrovnychyy, Product Manager at Kogan.com said of the phone

Smartphones are a necessity for everyday life, but a lot of people aren’t able to keep up with the sharp price increases for new devices. We’ve built a phone packed with all the high-end features that Australians demand, but at a fraction of the price.

The pre-order price is only valid until November 24, Kogan has not announced what the post pre-order price will be but if you want one jump on over and check it out.
