OnePlus have had a rocky time but today they have turned 4 and seem to be doing all the right things to continue to steer the ship in the right direction. To celebrate turning 4 they have released a documentary telling the OnePlus story from first inception to now.
The video is brutally honest and although it does not mention their PR missteps it does mention how they failed to listen to their fans while developing the OnePlus 2 and as such failed with that phone. No numbers of sales were given for the OnePlus 2 but they did talk about how they thought 30,000 would have been a successful first year with the OnePlus One — they ended up selling over one million of them.
Then there was their safe year, the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Something they needed after their dismal second year and it apparently sold well, leading into this year where they released the OP5 and OP5T, two much more innovative devices that have received widespread acclaim.
The video focuses on how OnePlus were humbled after their OnePlus 2 failure and will never make the mistake of not listening to their fans again. The video is an interesting watch giving a bit of an insight into a smartphone company and is worth checking out.
What do you think? Are OnePlus on the right track? Where to from here for OnePlus?
