Yesterday we heard from Samsung announcing Australian pricing and availability for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) – it’s available now (depending on where you shop) from $649 (Wi-fi) and $799 (Wi-fi and 4G).
Today, word reaches us from a trusted source indicating that Telstra has added the tablet to its portfolio of on-contract devices – for business customers, at least. The tablets are said to be available in Telstra stores from December 10.
The basic on-contract price for the tablet starts from $84/month on a 1-year contract and $52/month on a 2-year contract, with 1 GB / month data in both cases – prices obviously will go up as you add more data.
This makes for a total price of $1008 on a 1-year contract, and $1248 on a 2-year contract. Compared against the $799 RRP of the 4G version of the tablet, that’s $209 for 1 year of 1 GB/month 4G data service, or $449 for two years.
Are you interested in the Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)? Are you looking to get one on a 12- or 24-month contract? Let us know in the comments.
It would be nice if we could get kit kat on the older note 10.1.
The Note 10 2014 is in the latest Telstra Ads on TV. Noticed it last night on 7mate…. it’s wrapped in lights etc…. but definitely the 2014 model ( has the home button )
It’s probably about time that I updated my Tab 10.1. Hopefully Optus will have this on contract as well.
$150 = 15GB on Telstra? if yes, then getting one on contact isn’t too bad especially if you don’t have the money to buy it outright. but in saying that, still won’t get the tablet unless it get some cm/aokp/etc loving! 😀
Never seen anyone use that much data on a tablet, though! Is it possible you’re actually thinking about the 12 month prepaid data plans where you got 12 GB over 12 months for $150? That’s on prepaid, these are on contract… The data packs listed in Telstra’s documentation are: $25 / 1GB $35 / 4GB $50 / 8GB $95 / 15GB $150 / 25GB As you commit to higher data packs, the MRO goes down. A bit. On a 12 month contract, with the $150 per month data pack which gives you 25 GB data per month you’d be paying… Read more »
If you can get over the awful $800 RRP, the 12 month plan isn’t too bad for 1GB per month and terms payment on the tablet.
