OnePlus are a very young company but have started having some very decent decent sales figures in the past couple of years. They are hoping to build upon this success with their upcoming flagship expected to be called the OnePlus 6.
Overnight an official render of the back of the OnePlus 6 has been leaked by the usual suspect, Evan Blass.

What is interesting about this render is that it is totally different from the rear of OPPO’s latest flagship. Last year we saw the design of the OnePlus 5 and 5T very closely mimic the design of the OPPO R11 and R11s — they are sister companies with a common parent after all. This year they have gone down a different design path.
The render shows that the OnePlus 6 will indeed have it’s fingerprint on the rear of the device and although that doesn’t mean there isn’t one under the display as well it is very unlikely given the increases cost that would likely be involved with doing that. The fingerprint sensor is a different shape to the OPPO R15 and the camera is also situated in the centre of the device as opposed to the top right corner on the R15.
We can also see that OnePlus are sticking with the headphone jack, USB-C and a single speaker for their 2018 flagship. The phone also appears to be an 18:9 aspect ratio device.
Not much else is known about the OnePlus 6 but we expect it to be powered by a Snapdragon 845 along with a heap of RAM (6GB minimum) and plenty of onboard storage (128GB). Rumours have pointed towards an announcement in late May/early June but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it before then.
Of course we have no idea if they will be selling it directly into Australia and as much as we hope they do it is unlikely at first anyway. Would you consider OnePlus for your next daily driver if it was sold directly here?
Honestly, yes, I’m heading further and further off track from the mainstay Androids lately. I really, really, really don’t like the direction Samsung has gone, I’ve currently got a Huawei Mate 9 on contract from Voda, but would be very interested in a Oneplus/Oppo/Xiaomi/Huawei outright and just buying into a sim only plan per month, rather than a long contract.
That’s exactly what I did, went from a S6 to the Oneplus 5 during the soft launch. Got a high spec phone without spending the samsung price tag and I’m on a 12 month plan with my sim
