Telstra has today announced they’ve added some new handsets, the Alcatel 1X, Telstra Superior, and Telstra Essential Plus to their pre-paid range.
The three phones represent the value end of the range, offering great value for money. The Telstra Essential Plus (priced at $99) and the Alcatel 1x (priced at $129) both offer additional value running Android Go with guaranteed updates from Google and will arrive at Telstra on September 4th. Finally, the Telstra Superior – a rebadged Alcatel 3V – which arrived on their site last week is selling for $199 and is available now.
The Telstra Essential Plus hasn’t been put up on the website as yet – but we’re putting money that it’s the Alcatel 1 announced earlier this year. The phone has a 4.95” 18:9 aspect ratio display and high-grade brushed polycarbonate back.
The Alcatel 1X has a 5.34” display with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with a dedicated flash. Telstra will be selling the Alcatel 1X in Dark Grey Suede.
The Telstra Superior – or Alcatel 3V – has a 6” 2K (2160×1080) 18:9 aspect ratio display and is powered by a quad-core Mediatek processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The phone includes dual rear cameras consisting of a 12MP camera paired with a 2MP secondary depth camera with LED flash for real-time bokeh effect and a 5MP fingerprint sensor. Telstra is now selling the Superior on their website for $199.
The Telstra pre-paid phones are all locked to the Telstra network, though you can unlock them for an additional cost. If you’re wanting any of the phones, you can grab the Telstra Superior now, while the Telstra Essential Plus and Alcatel 1x will be available on September 4th.
