It seems that it is now near-impossible for a manufacturer to keep an upcoming device secret. This time it is Huawei’s turn with the soon-to-be-announced Mate 20 Lite appearing in a hands on video from Poland.

Huawei is big in Poland, with the Mate 10 Lite formerly its biggest selling smartphone. Thus it is no surprise that many Polish sites have already had hands on with the Mate 20 Lite. Today one site has released a hands on video of it.

As you can see in the video the Mate 20 Lite has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display with a notch. The display is apparently a 6.3 inch LCD with 1080 x 2340 resolution. It is 158.3 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm in size and weighs 172 grams. There are two front facing cameras (24MP and 2MP) and two rear facing cameras (20MP and 2MP) with built-in AI camera features. The fingerprint sensor is located on the rear, and not underneath the display as is expected on the Mate 20 Pro.

The processor is the in-house Kirin 710 processor (12nm process) and is supported with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (with microSD support) and a 3,750mAh battery. As for the software it is expected to be running Android 8.1 Oreo underneath EMUI 8.2.

Last year the Mate 10 Lite arrived here without that moniker, instead rebadged to the Nova 2i. It would not surprise us to see Huawei do the same locally again with the Mate 20 Lite. It is expected to arrive in Poland on September 10 with pre-orders already starting for PLN 1,599 (approximately AU$600).

We would expect it to arrive here towards the end of the year but keep an eye on Ausdroid as we will let you know as soon as we have anything we can share.
