After a flying start in 2018, the truly wireless headphone market is really taking off this year and Jaybird are getting on board with their new Jaybird Run XT truly wireless headphones heading to Australian stores and online from this week.
The headphones are aimed at the active user, improving on their previous generation of RUN truly wireless headphones which were only sweatproof and water-resistant, with the new model offering true waterproofing with an IPX7 rating allowing them to be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
The RUN XT headphones sit completely in the ear offering a comfortable fit, and decent sound if their previous models are anything to go by. The RUN XT also includes a button to call your choice of digital assistant – Google Assistant or Siri.

Now the entire lineup of Jaybird headphones are waterproof and sweatproof. At the same time, we took the opportunity to update the colours and finishing to create a more rugged yet sophisticated design.
The Jaybird RUN XT will last a total of 12 hours use, with four hours of life in the buds and an additional 8 hours stored in the supplied charging/storage case.
The truly wireless nature of the buds can worry some people who fear losing them, but a new feature in the Jaybird app will allow you to find the buds if they do go missing. The app also allows you to set the EQ. Jaybird is also bringing a new Podcast recommendation service to the app next month, bringing you a list of curated podcasts from their roster of athletes and brand ambassadors.
The Jaybird RUN XT True Wireless Sport Headphones will be coming in Black/Flash and Storm Gray/Glacier colour options and will be available in JB HI-FI and Rebel Sport from the February 4th, 2019 or from jaybirdsport.com from today for a RRP of $279.95.
