Moto has officially announced their 2019 Moto G line of devices: meet the Moto G7 family including the Moto G7 plus, Moto G7, Moto G7 power and the Moto G7 play.
Moto has enjoyed well earned praise and success with the Moto G line in years passed; originally launched as a budget line the Moto G quickly settled in to be a device that offered a fantastic price-performance proposition.
The new line includes Android 9 Pie at launch, upgraded cameras, improved battery life and updated Snapdragon 6 series processors. Of the 4 models, the Moto G7 Plus has been confirmed as coming to Australia with the G7 and G7 power noted to be coming to Asia-Pacific and the G7 play seemingly intended for the USA and Latin America.

Moto G7 plus
The Moto G7 plus is definitely the top of the line device with best in family specs in every aspect, except battery capacity where the specialist G7 power adds an additional 2000 mAh. The G7 plus features a 6.2″ FHD LCD tear drop notch display, Snapdragon 636, 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, NFC, Fingerprint sensor, A 3.5 mm courage port (headphone jack), 3000 mAh battery and Android Pie.
Camera wise the plus model has dual rear-facing camera including a 16MP f/1.7 main sensor backed up by a 5Mp depth sensor, OIS, Dual CCT LED flash and phase detection autofocus. Around the front, there’s a 12MP sensor with a few selfie smarts built into the camera app.

How sure are you that it has NFC? I saw on Android Authority that doesn’t have NFC
The G7 Plus that is heading to AU has it explicitly listed on their PR site. no other G7 model has it. Maybe because the USA model doesn’t have NFC AA reported it that way?
The Plus is the only one worth getting, because it’s the only one with NFC. The other three do not have it, which for me is a dealbreaker. I can take or leave the headphone jack either way, but my needs require NFC for Google Pay.
Agreed, if the AU model didn’t have NFC that would have made it almost unreccomendable, but it does so it’s all good!
After seeing how good my fathers G6 series phone was I’m pretty sure the G7Plus will be my next phone. It ticks everything on my need list and most things on my want list. Now just waiting for a price. Admittedly I’ll almost certainly wait until after it’s first price drop, but that will be more in line when my current phone is ready to be replaced anyway. I just hope this one can handle two different Sim cards as well as an SD card like most of the recent Motos.
3 card slots are rare, fingers crossed. We will try and get hands on at MWC
The G7 Plus is by far the most compelling phone of the bunch. Would’ve been even better if it was part of the Android One program, though
You’d be missing out on the Moto software though, which frankly is more than enough benefit worth the few month delay to get the latest version of Android.
Agreed, Moto does nice additions, the chop chop for the flashlight is my all-time favourite phone feature, more that NFC and Qi!
Motorola could release a G7 Plus Android One version, just like the Moto X4 Android One which still had some (but not all) of the Moto Actions.
I would love for Moto to bring their Android One device to Australia. I’m kind of only recommending Android one to “normals” now.
