The rumour of a lower end version of the Galaxy Note 3 has been floating around for a while now and it’s finally surfaced in Poland, with the Polish Samsung site announcing the phone in two different flavours – LTE+ and 3G.
The versions actually differ little in specs apart from their CPU – the 3G version coming with a 1.6GHz Quad-Core CPU, widely believed to be an Exynos based processor, while the LTE+ version comes with a Hex-Core SoC which seems to be using the BIGlittle ARM idea pairing dual A15 cores clocked at 1.7GHz with four A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz.
Of course a Note device has a massive battery and at 3,100mAh you’re not going to go wrong. For the rest of the hardware, you’re looking at a 5.5″ (139.52 mm) HD 1280×720 Super AMOLED Display on the front, 2GB RAM, 16 GB of onboard storage as well as microSD slot (up to 64GB). There’s an 8MP Camera on the rear which uses a BSI sensor and a 2MP Front-facing camera as well and of course it wouldn’t be a Note series device without the S-Pen.
You won’t have issues connecting this bad boy to anything with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac(HT80), GPS(With GLONASS), NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 (LE) and to top it off, the now familiar IR LED with WatchOn compatability.
Speaking of Software, the Note 3 Neo runs Android 4.3 and comes with all the S-Apps you could want – S Voice Hands Free, S Health, S Note and more.
According to Samsung the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be available worldwide in three colors – black, white and green from February. While the initial announcement had no pricing, it has cropped up on a German site for €529.90(AUD $818.31) for the LTE+ version, while the 3G version is listed at €499.00(AUD $770.59). The pricing seems oddly high for a supposedly downgraded version, but we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung Australia can do.
