If you’re wondering why Ausdroid – which started as an Android blog – is talking about Apple, that’s probably a fair question. However, putting aside iPhones – which we don’t use – Apple has a fair amount of other technology which some of us do use, and which is fairly popular amongst lots of others.
Apple’s WWDC – or World Wide Developers Conference – is something like Google I/O, and event which started with a strong developer focus, and evolved into something where the companies make their major announcements.
WWDC doesn’t see new iPhones, which we mostly don’t care about, but it does see Apple announcing the next major versions of its operating systems, which includes Mac OS. Whether you’re in the Android or iPhone mobile ecosystem, Apple laptops can be among the best for creative professionals, and it’s for that reason that some of us use them, and many others do too.
As with Google I/O, the keynote at the start of the conference is the big highlight, and if you want to watch, it’s streamed online for all to see.
The easiest way to watch is jumping on the Apple Events page where the keynote will be streamed on Monday at 1pm ET (or around 3.00am on Tuesday 4 June for those in Eastern Australia).

With Android and iOS evolving so closely and borrowing features from each other as they go, I find it’s best to take an open mind and see what Apple’s working on, as inevitably some of the features will make their way across to Android in the near future (if they haven’t already).
