For those with long memories the original HTC Wildfire was released in 2010 but with HTC’s fortunes flagging we have not seen any more of this little smartphone since. According to a new leak overnight HTC is set to bring four new Wildfire models to the market in some impressive looking packages.

In a leak overnight HTC will be bringing four different HTC Wildfire models to the market. The four models are the Wildfire E, Wildfire E Plus, Wildfire E1 and the plain old Wildfire.

HTC Wildfire

The plain old HTC Wildfire is the best looking of the bunch in a stunning rainbow coloured body. The display in the Wildfire will be a decent 6.217-inches with a 720P resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Powered by an 8-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor it will be packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

The rear dual camera features 16MP and 5MP lenses while the font-facing camera is 16MP. The battery is a decent 3500mAh and the phone supports LTE, dual SIM and includes a headphone jack.

HTC Wildfire E

The Wildfire E will arrive with a 5.45-inch 720P display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be accompanied by an 8-core Spreadtrum SC9863 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. There will be a dual rear camera setup (13MP and 2MP) and a single 5MP front-facing camera.

Packed inside a body with dimensions of 147.86 × 71.4 × 8.9 mm the battery is a relatively small 3000mAh. The phone will be LTE/4G only and will include a headphone jack and dual SIM capabilities.

HTC Wildfire E Plus

In a package that looks to be near-identical in design to the Wildfire E, the Wildfire E Plus is a larger phone at 160.4 × 67.3 × 8.7 mm housing a 5.99-inch 720P 18:9 display. This one is powered by a 4-core Mediatek Helio A22 CPU with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Once again there will be a dual rear camera setup (13MP and 2MP) and a single 5MP front-facing camera.

Battery size is the same as the E at 3000mAh which could be a concern given the larger display.

HTC Wildfire E1

The Wildfire E1 is slightly larger again although the actual dimensions are unknown — the display is larger at 6.088-inches with a 720P resolution in a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. It is also powered by 4-core Mediatek Helio A22 CPU but this one comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

The rear camera is a single lens setup at 16MP and the front camera is 8MP. Once again the battery is just 3000mAh.

All of the Wildfire phones will be available in Russia first with indications it is also heading to India not long after. It is unclear if HTC will be looking to bring these entry-level phones to Australia but if priced sharply you could see them doing well here. They are decent looking phones for entry-level phones.

Yes I have fond memories of HTC and was even a Dopod user to begin. They were really leading the was for a long while in my view and it would be great to see them re-enter the market. Ha-ha – thanks for the memories Scott Plowman.

Naww I had the original Wildfire and it was so cute! In fact I’ve still got it lying around somewhere. It was titchy (like 3.5 – 4″) and ran out of memory for apps almost immediately but I found it incredibly stable (compared to other HTC phones of the time) and it was…likeable.

Edit: it was only 3.2 inches
