The OnePlus 7T has been announced and the OnePlus 7T Pro is not coming until this time next week and yet we are already potentially seeing leaks of a OnePlus 8.
We are treating this leak with a huge helping of salt because the release of the OnePlus 8 is most likely over six months away it is unlikely to be finished software. Manufacturers go through quite a few iterations of prototype hardware before settling for a final product. It seems unlikely that OnePlus would already have settled on their final product.
Cashkaro and @OnLeaks though have managed to get their hands on what they say are leaked schematics “disclosed by the company insider” of next year’s OnePlus 8 along with a few details of the specs we will see on the device.
If these leaks are indeed accurate then OnePlus will be foregoing the waterdrop notch on the OnePlus 8 and instead opting for a hole punch cutout for the selfie camera, with the hole located in the top left corner of the display. The display itself is purported to be approximately 6.5-inches and for the first time in a non-pro device for OnePlus, curved (in an unpopular opinion of mine, can I say that I hate curved displays?).
The rear will house a triple rear camera setup again, going back to the vertical alignment rather than the circular camera module seen in the OnePlus 7T (and most likely the 7T Pro). The OnePlus 8, according to their source, will also finally arrive with wireless charging.
Of course it is extremely early in the development of the OnePlus 8 and it is unlikely this is final hardware but then they did seemingly have OnePlus 7T hardware finalised late last year so you never know. For now though it is good to see OnePlus continually improving their phones rather than resting on their laurels.
