Full specs for the Samsung Galaxy S20 line emerge

With just a few weeks until the official unveiling of the Galaxy S20 line up including the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra we’ve gotten out first look at the full specs sheet for all devices, and as you’d imagine they’re rather good. The differences in the different SKUs line up with the rumours we’ve been hearing.

What’s the same?
These specs while appearing legitimate aren’t complete, none of the models have any RAM options listed and there’s no mention of the expected Snapdragon 865 variant. We’re also not seeing colour options listed here. Apart from that, the S20 line seems to have a consistent base of a 120Hz, 20:9 aspect ratio, 3200×1440 AMOLED hole-punch display, Exynos 990 SOC, 128GB base storage, MicroSD, IP68 weather protection and Android 10 at launch.

What’s Different?
Size is obviously the first major difference with the devices growing from 6.2 inches on the S20 to 6.7 inches on the S20+ to 6.9 inches for the S20 Ultra. The battery is the next incremental growth with the battery growing from 4000 mAh to 4500 mAh to a final 5000 mAh. We are expecting variations in the internal storage with the S20 Ultra tipped to go as high as 512 GB in some SKUs.

Cameras are a major point of difference between the S20 Ultra and the two other S20 models. The S20 and S20+ come with a main 12MP sensor, 64MP telephoto and 12 MP Ultra Wide, the S20+ includes a time of flight sensor whereas the S20 won’t. Both feature 3x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom and upto 8K30FPS video recording.

The Ultra though has a 108MP main sensor (downscaled for sure), 48MP telephoto and a 12 MP ultra wide-angle also with a Time of Flight sensor. The Ultra includes a 10x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom and the same up to 8K30FPS video recording.

Don’t look at the specs of the S20 or S20+ and somehow feel they aren’t premium: these devices represent degrees of excess, the S20 base device would be a phenomenal device in itself whereas the S20 Ultra is exactly that, Ultra. We don’t have any solid leaks on price yet, but if you are not wanting to start at or above $1500 then perhaps the new S10 Lite or Note 10 Litet are more your thing.
