It has been a long time coming but it seems the final nail in the coffin for Google third generation of Pixel devices has arrived with the Pixel 3 and 3XL being officially removed from the Google online store.

Having a look on the Google Australian store and searching for the Pixel 3 or 3XL brings no mention of it at all. The only mobile devices now available through the Australian store is the Google Pixel 4 and 4XL along with the Pixel 3a.

A Google spokesperson confirmed the changes with Android Police, saying its online store had sold out its entire inventory of Pixel 3 devices.

Granted, the Pixel 3 and 3XL were real standouts for the company, having introduced its new camera technology like Night Sight, Top Shot and Photobooth. Yes, there were a few shortcomings and flaws like most products released but it has been described as a standout device just simply because of its much improved camera technology which at the time was unheard of for a single lens system.

Next up will be the Pixel 3a with the 4a expected to arrive in the next couple of months. Another mid-range Pixel from Google can only be a good thing and we look forward to checking that out.

Really sad, the last true pixel, when the line only lasted 3 generations… No fingerprint reader no buy.
