Chromeboxes and Chromebooks are very useful, simple and offer a strong future capable design. The latest Chromebox from Asus has been delivered featuring a fanless design alongside impressive specs.
It offers the latest technology, top-end specs, and promises consistent and reliable performance.
One area many users severely underestimate with devices like a Chromebox is the potential for power saving, simply because they don’t need the same power throughput as a traditional Windows PC.
The physical box is designed to be “tough” with an aluminium chassis, although in most cases once installed they’re unlikely to be moved. Coupled with the fanless design this means they’re going to be really useful in a harsh, potentially even industrial environment.
Let’s take a closer look at the specs with the options being dependent on the model you purchase:
- 10th Gen Intel Core/Celeron Process
- Up to 16GB DDR4-2666 Memory
- USB-C 3.2 connectivity for data, power and display capable
- Supporting up to 3 x 4K monitors
- Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet-capable
- Always up to date and secure thanks to ChromeOS
Of course, you’ll have access to the full suite of apps from Google Play as we’ve come to expect from ChromeOS now. This makes a Chromebox remarkably versatile for home (desktop replacement), or work use across multiple environments.
We’re expecting them to be available in February this year, but (at the time of writing this article) do not yet have pricing.
