Acer recently announced the addition of four new Chromebooks to their range, but sadly only one is definitely bound for Australia. Two won’t be available in Australia and one with yet to be announced local pricing and availability. So… some good news right? The model that is coming to Australia is the Chromebook Spin 713.
Thankfully though, it’s an impressive little powerhouse that is capable of delivering a lot to users. The specs are right up there offering an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 driving a 13.5-inch display (2256 x 1504 resolution) display. You shouldn’t struggle for connectivity with a couple of Thunderbolt 4 ports to cover all of your needs from power to data and video output.
For home use, the 713 will be very capable for media consumption thanks to the DTS Audio and amplifier to minimise sound distortion, even at higher volume. The convertible form factor also lends itself to easy media consumption in a variety of locations.
If you’re worried about carrying it daily and the durability, there’s not a lot to worry about. The aluminium chassis is designed to take a beating, offering military-grade durability and security via a fingerprint reader. It weighs 1.37kg — not super light, but not as hefty as some — and is only 16.9mm making it a good portable option.
Perhaps the only potential drawback for heavy users is the 10 hours of battery life that may not quite last the day. A quick 30 minute charge (use your lunch break wisely) will gain you around four hours of extra use, so providing you’re not away from power all day, you’re set.

Pricing for the Chromebook Spin 713 is yet to be announced, but we do know that we’ll see them in Australia during Q4 this year.
