Early this year, ROG announced the brand new Zephyris Duo 16, an upgrade for Zephyrus G14 and Strix series at CES2022. These new equipment are now available for gamers in Australia.
Strix SCAR and Strix G
As a star product in ROG gaming notebooks, the Strix series has always been sought after by gamers for its professional gaming experience. In 2022, the Strix SCAR and Strix G have been fully upgraded to unlock a new horizon of 2K gaming for players.
The ROG Strix SCAR series is designed for esports enthusiasts. It has Windows 11 pre-installed and equipped processor up to i9-12900H and 150W NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, Dynamic Boost is supported in this new beast, too. The MUX-Switch will fully unleash the power of this top-tier GPU, while the PCIe 4.0 x4 storage solution can bring gamers lightning-fast loading speeds, and the DDR5-4800 MHz memory ensures ample firepower for multitasking.
ROG Strix SCAR is available in 15-inch and 17-inch models. The 15-inch will offer two IPS-level displays to choose from Full HD 300Hz and 360Hz. All displays support Dolby Vision HDR and Adaptive-Sync technology, with a fast 3ms response time, which can effectively help gamers achieve perfect results.
The new ROG Strix G15 and ROG Strix G17 are equipped with up to AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and 150W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards, which also support Dynamic Boost. The ROG Strix series brings gamers a QHD 165Hz screen panel, while the ROG Strix G17 equips a QHD 240Hz panel for high frame rate competitive games to fully meet the needs of gamers. All displays feature a 3ms response time, support for Dolby Vision HDR and Adaptive-Sync technology. In terms of exterior design, the ROG Strix series also offers three colours – Eclipse Gray, Volt Green and Electro Punk.
The ROG Strix series supports Dolby Atmos virtual surround sound. Two-way AI noise reduction technology can effectively filter incoming and outgoing background noise to ensure clear calls. In addition, the series is also equipped with a large 90Wh battery that supports 100W charging through USB Type-C. Furthermore, thanks to the support of WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN, ROG Strix gaming laptops promise higher speed network connection and minimize the latency problems of the wired and wireless networks.
ROG Zephyrus G14
The ROG Zephyrus series has received rave reviews since its launch. In 2022, Zephyrus once again defines what it means to be an “all-rounder”.
The new ROG Zephyrus is pre-installed with Windows 11, uses AMD Ryzen 9 series processors and AMD Radeon RX 6000S series mobile graphics cards, and supports MUX Switch technology to meet users’ high frame rate applications. The fully upgraded ROG uses liquid metal and a customized vapour chamber to ensure excellent heat dissipation, and the combination of DDR5 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD storage makes multitasking lightning-fast.
ROG Zephyrus incorporates technological trend elements in its exterior design. The back of the display is covered with 14,969 precision CNC milled holes, and the iconic AniMe Matrix™ light display matrix screen has 1,449 mini LEDs, which are more in numbers than the previous generation and brings a new animation display effect.
The ROG Zephyrus is also one of the first ROG laptops to feature the new Nebula Display, which offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits peak brightness at 2560×1600 resolution while covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and has a 3ms fast response time. Fast response time, support for Adaptive-Sync technology, Pantone colour certification and support for Dolby Vision HDR. The display is expanded to a 16:10 screen ratio, and with an ultra-narrow bezel design, it brings a large viewing experience of up to 91% screen-to-body ratio without sacrificing portability.
ROG Zephyrus is equipped with Dolby Atmos speakers, a 3D microphone array with two-way AI noise reduction, and ultra-fast WiFi 6E to make this gaming laptop suitable for all scenarios. The much-anticipated ROG Zephyrus G15 and M16 have also been upgraded, with the latest hardware from AMD and NVIDIA, DDR5 memory and WiFi 6E, fully releasing their strengths.
ROG Zephyrus Duo 16
ROG Zephyrus Duo is the most high-end gaming laptop in the ROG series; its unique dual-screen design has been upgraded to provide users with a great visual experience.
Thanks to the newly upgraded four-way hinge design, the ScreenPad Plus will rise and slide towards the main screen when the notebook is opened. This new hinge solution can further narrow the gap between the two displays, bringing a near-bezel-less immersive experience.
ROG Zephyrus Duo is equipped with a Nebula screen with HDR, a Mini-LED backlit panel, 512 mini LED for dimming zones, and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. It has 5400Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and a built-in exclusive Nebula display dedicated chip. Through a large number of video and image training through AI algorithms, the halo effect can be reduced by 25%. It also supports Adaptive-Sync to eliminate screen tearing. The 2560×1600 resolution panel has a 165Hz refresh rate, is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and supports Dolby Vision HDR.
This new ROG Zephyrus Duo packs a 16-inch display into a 15-inch body, ensuring a thin and light body without compromising hardware configuration and cooling solutions. ROG Zephyrus Duo uses a keyboard with a 1.7mm travel distance and RGB lighting per key, six speakers, support for Dolby Atmos, high-definition audio and two-way AI noise reduction technology. The ROG Zephyrus Duo is pre-installed with Windows 11, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX processor and a 165W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which supports Dynamic Boost 2.0
ROG Flow Z13 and XG Mobile
ROG is bringing their first-ever, also the world’s most powerful gaming tablet, the Flow Z13 to the gamers. The bad boy is pre-installed with Windows 11, equipped with CPU up to i9-12900H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card and LPDDR5 5200MHz memory, which supports top-tier performance in an ultra-thin body. ROG Flow Z13 also has a 1TB PCIe-based SSD, supports MUX Switch technology, and has a customized vapour chamber and Type-C fast charging, which completely subverts the gaming tablet experience.
The Flow Z13 also brings users two display options: a 4K 60Hz display with 116% sRGB colour gamut coverage or a 120Hz display with 100% sRGB coverage. The two 16:10 ratio screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, support Adaptive-Sync technology, has 500 nits of brightness, support Dolby Vision HDR and pass the Pantone colour certification, which can guarantee accurate colour reproduction for professional use.
Thanks to the two-in-one form design, the Flow Z13 can also be unlocked and used in multiple forms, from traditional keyboard and mouse to touch screen operation and even external gamepads. Due to the tablet-like shape design, all the powerful components are located right behind the screen. In the vertical state, Flow Z13 is able to obtain more sufficient cooling airflow exchange and maintain high-performance output continuously.
In terms of appearance design, ROG Flow Z13 incorporates a retro-futuristic style. This new design is inspired by the space race in the 20th century. At the same time, ROG’s pursuit of “ultimate portability” is fully displayed in the style of the whole machine. The CNC-milled window on the rear of the chassis allows a direct view of the internal component, with an adjustable RGB light effect, the overall appearance is full of technological, futuristic feeling. The built-in kickstand can be opened up to 170 degrees, providing the best angle of use for any situation.
In addition to this, consumers can also use the Flow Z13 with two external GPUs from the XG Mobile family – XG Mobile + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 in 2021 and XG Mobile + AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT in 2022. Additional USB ports, DisplayPort and HDMI, and Ethernet ports on the docking station keep users ready for more challenges.
